Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m going to cycle over 900 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) starting on 9th Sep 2015 and finishing on 18th Sep 2015 to raise funds for the CESO charity (UK Reg 1133130), who support the Ivor Leigh Memorial School in Kaningo, Sierra Leone. The school provides a primary education for around 250 pupils, but had to close in the middle of 2014 due to the terrible Ebola outbreak. The Government gave permission for schools to reopen in April 2015, and CESO now needs to raise funds for additional supplies and teachers in order for the children to catch up on the vital education they have missed, as well as a clean water supply to maintain the high sanitation standards required to continue the fight against Ebola.
I’m not expecting this to be easy, but luckily I’m a stubborn Taurean, and I’m hoping this will help me overcome the challenges of never having cycled more than 100 miles in one hit, never having cycled the kind of tough climbs required, never having cycled more than 40 miles back to back, and having hardly any training time due to opening a new business recently.
Here’s the daily schedule – wish me luck !
