Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

You are here because you want to sponsor Dave Wrighting, Dave Holmes,  and myself after we gave ourselves very sore backsides by riding 3754 miles around the coast on our motorbikes .

PLEASE DIG DEEP AND DONATE LOTS AS GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL DO A FANTASTIC JOB HELPING THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN EACH YEAR.

The ride started from Ness Point (The most Easterly point ) on August 23rd  at 9am and we rode as close to the coastline as possible – following road routes within view of the sea wherever we safely could. Here is a daily breakdown of our route

23rd      325 miles to Scarborough
24th      288 miles to Invermay
25th      262 miles to Inverness
26th      305 miles to Ullapool
27th      330 miles to Oban
28th      206 miles to Minnigaff
29th      259 miles to Whitehaven (1/2 Day)
30th      126 miles to Morecambe Bay (1/2 Day)
31st      248 miles to Bangor
1st        321 miles to Port Eynon
2nd       259 miles to Elmscott
3rd        270 miles to Salcombe
4th        278 miles to Peacehaven
5th        307 miles to Lowestoft Finish

“It might not seem a difficult task, but we were riding for between ten and fourteen hours a day for a fortnight. The strong winds and heavy rain most days made riding more challenging than usual. Anyone who has seen the series ‘The long way down’ will know how demanding this amount of riding is both mentally and physically. "

So please sponsor us now!

Alternatively if you prefer you could sponsor one of my co-riders who is riding for Macmillan Cancer Support by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/davidwrighting

Many thanks,
