Story
As some of you reading this page will know, I ran my first 10km race back in May. I finished 14m 36s and 760 places behind Mo Farah. I then promptly collapsed, puked, and almost passed out.
So what better idea than to run just over twice that distance a few months later?
Ealing's first ever half marathon will take place on 30th September 2012. Somehow I allowed myself to be cajoled into signing up. I figured I should turn my misery into something positive by raising some cash for a good cause at the same time.
People close to me have been affected by and/or lost loved ones to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. At some point you'll probably be affected too, if you haven't already. The charity which you're hopefully about to donate to helps to fund research projects into a variety of dementia-related conditions.
I'm not setting a target as I'm not dependent on donations to pay for my place in the event or anything like that - but please give as much as you can. It's about the only thing that will motivate me to keep training for this self-imposed punishment. If you're lucky enough to be working and paying tax in the UK, Gift Aid it.
Thanks!
