Farleigh Hospice provides hospice care & support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. With approximately 40% of our annual running costs funded by the local NHS, we rely on the goodwill of the local mid Essex community to contribute to the £21,271 it costs to provide our services each day.

Story

Hey there! Thanks so much for visiting my page.

Yes, the rumours are true. I really am running the London Marathon in 2018. Eeek!

I will be training hard throughout the winter months in order to get myself in tip-top shape for the challenge of running the iconic 26.2 mile London Marathon course next April. I know it's not going to be easy, but with your support there's no way I can possibly fail!

Completing the Marathon has been a lifelong dream for me and I'm honoured to be running on behalf of Farleigh Hospice. People close to me will already know that Farleigh is a charity close to mine and my families' hearts. They cared for my Uncle Paul at the end of his life and made his final days as comfortable and pain-free as could be.

It costs Farleigh up to £15,595 every day to provide care for people with life-limiting illnesses with only 45% of their income coming from the NHS. The remainder is paid for via support from the local community so every penny raised is crucial and really will make a huge difference, enabling Farleigh to continue their fantastic work. The level of care Paul received during his time at the Hospice was outstanding, so this is the least I can do on behalf of my family to give something back and show our gratitude for all they did for my Uncle.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So, I suppose I better get training then! If you see me out and about on the mean streets of Chelmsford, pounding the pavement and struggling for breath, please give me a wave or a shout. Or, better still, chuck a bit of cash my way! :-)

Thanks everyone,

Amy xxx
