Update Transplant and London Marathon. Jan 2008
Many many thanks to all of you who have donated. I am so grateful.
On the 2nd November I had my 3rd transplant following some new treatment. At present the transplant is going well and I have decided to try and complete the London Marathon on the 13 April 2008.
A million thanks for visiting this page. I hope by now you know what this is all about. I am aiming to raise 1 million pounds for Kidney Research.
This is possible if you are kind enough to donate £2 and tell 10 people about my mission. If your friends can tell 10 of their friends and so on it will only take 5 rounds of emails to raise our million "Together by donating £2 each"
A bit about me for those that don't know. I am a 30rd year old who has suffered renal problems my whole life. I have had 34 operations and am currently undergoing treatment for a 3rd kidney transplant. I am alive because of the people who do research into kidney disease.
I am passionate about being able to put something back and raising the awareness of renal disease and how it affects so many. Due to my current medication I am in quarantine and have time on my hands - so I have decided to try and raise a million through the help of my friends and in turn their friends. It is a sort of pyramid of good!
Renal problems affect more people than you might guess "Charity launches campaign to warn 1 in 10 people have Chronic Kidney Disease."
I am only asking for £2 (a cheap pint) but if you could dig deeper that would be brilliant. If you can't afford to please spread the message anyway.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kidney Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. To find out more about my fund raising idea and current medical treatment visit http://beforeyouaskiamfine.blogspot.com
If you facebook why not spread the word through that also.
Don't forget to tell ten people about this page and what I am trying to achieve.
With thanks,
Ian
Update form Kidney Research:
"Kidney Research UK are very pleased to benefit from the support of Ian Purchase, who is asking friends and family to help him raise his amazing target of £1,000,000. Kidney Research UK would encourage anyone to support Ian in his aim of raising this amount of money and thereby help us fund vital research into kidney disease. The lives of over three million people in the UK are under threat from chronic kidney disease, a devastating and debilitating condition that can strike anyone at any time. It is because of the generous support of the public and Individuals such as Ian that we are able to fund life-saving research and offer a brighter future to kidney patients."
