But in his final words I found an ace that I could keep.
You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when youre sittin at the table.
Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This is going to be my third and final marathon... and I hope you will dig deep to support me. So far I have raised £23,000 and with your help I hope to make it £30,000 in all.
I will be running in the colours of the YJS Trust, which is a trust that I helped set up with my brother and sister after our mother died of Cancer in 2003. As a trust we donate the money we raise to good causes that she would have wanted to support. This year we are raising money for the Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity.
Helen was a BBC sports presenter, in fact she was the first female presenter of Grandstand and in doing so broke through the glass ceiling to allow many female sports journalists to follow. After she died in 1999 she gave her name and image to the Heal Cancer charity. Before she died she said:
"Good Quality of life whilst coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive, it should be available to everyone."
The charity supports cancer patients and their families through a network of alternative treatment centres that offer a range of care that include counselling, nutritional advice and reflexology. Mum used alternative treatments throughout her life as well as during her illness - we believe that supporting the Helen Rollason charity will be a fitting tribute.

I do hope you will be able to dig deep and help to support this worthwhile and important cause.
Don't forget to check the gift aid box if you are a UK tax payer!!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
