Story
Stupid boy, Pike.
Yes, I completed the London Marathon in a record breaking 7 hours and 7 mins in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust, yes, yes, I know that's not that quick, ok, it's fairly slow. But it still hurt the next day. And the day after.
I did, however, have a great time, met some lovely (injured/tired) people en route, (more time to chat, see?) and we still beat Katie and Peter by 4 mins. Although due to the fact that they got away from the start before us(the priviledge of celebrity), we still came in after them. Not fair. So anyway, we did it, its not to late to sponsor me, I know I'm going to get nowhere near my target but every little helps!
Mel's foot isn't getting any better. Probably because she's not resting it, but possibly because its misdiagnosed.
OK, here's the thing. In case you're wondering why the ANT, I met a friend and his wife while out running this week (yeah, yeah). Their 4 year old son Felix has neuroblastoma, http://www.appeal4felix.com (diagnosed in Feb this year) which needs lots of chemo, then surgery, then a bone marrow transplant and then radio therapy. This brought it all back home a bit, because although I know children who haven't needed a bone marrow transplant despite having leukaemia, Felix will. The ANT give people with almost no hope, some hope.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
