Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In 2009 I ran a total of 601 miles for the charity Practical Action to raise funds for Practical Action. Practical Action work with communities in developing countries to identify and develop simple, practical technology which enables them to improve their day-to-day lives, reduce the impact of disease and help them be more self-sufficient. You can find out more about Practical Action here: http://www.practicalaction.org/ and about my progress here: http://www.alans500milechallenge.blogspot.com
On Sunday 7th March 2010 I will be taking part in the Milton Keynes Half Marathon and again will be raising funds for Practical Action. I really hope you'll consider sponsoring me. Even a small amount will help Practical Action's work.
Your donation could help:
- provide access to safe, clean water in Kenya
- farmers in Zambia irrigate their crops more effectively
- farmers in remote areas of Nepal get their crops to market
- build homes in Zimbabwe
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Practical Action gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
