Story
Tenacity, gumption, mental fortitude & self-sufficiency. Qualities necessary in the ultra-distance race game, but also for millions of people worldwide fleeing their homes, in search of safety & the chance to live a normal life.
Relatively new to cycling, I instantly got hooked & last year cycled 5100 miles from the Arctic to the Mediterranean. I will now pit myself against the Trans Am Bike Race, a 4200 mile self-supported race across the USA in < 30 days. That's 145 miles every day minimum!!
Asylum Link support thousands of local Asylum Seekers & Refugees every year. Offering FRIENDSHIP, a COMMUNITY, the chance to feel human again. On top of the basics of HOUSING & daily FOOD, & CLOTHING to many homeless & destitute.
Please see their lovely video for more info: https://youtu.be/TjjewHin4eo
If I could raise £1 for every hard mile I have to ride, I would embrace the saddle sores, the insomnia, the potential injuries knowing that it has helped to support this group of vulnerable people.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
