Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
So I made this desicion to run the Namibian Marathon and then unfortunately James, my best man, made it a matter of public record at my wedding. Now I ACTUALLY have to do it, and so does James!
This race is a 75miles run, to be completed in 24h across the Namibian desert. We're going to run for The Children's Trust charity, someone might as well benefit from our pain. This Charity helps kids with multiple disabilities and serious health needs, and James and I are both very proud to do something to contribute.
So please sponsor us now! Thanks a lot.
17/04/2009: It's been a bit less than a week since the race and I'm now fully recovered. I am absolutely thrilled that I completed the run. It took me 25h07min to finish it and I am very pleased I even managed to do so. James made a very selfless decision to stop the race after the first marathon. His feet were really damaged and there was no way he would finish in these conditions. He pulled out so I could carry on and finish in time. He was of great help at the following check-points and without him I wouldn't have completed the run. Out of 23 participants, 9 got pulled out by the medics, mainly due to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The weather conditions were a big strain on the runners, with temperatures reaching 42C and a hot wind which never left. This was the adventure of a lifetime... what will be next?
