Was a great experience and the pre & post shopathon more than made up for the last couple of miles' slog. Really sunny day, mid 70s with 96% humidity which took a little while to get used to. Fantastic support on route with an additional bonus of seeing my friends and family three times at the 8th, 17th & 24th miles which made it for me. A huge thank you to them all for making the trip out.
What did I learn?
1) Marc Jacob's makes great jeans 2) I don't like Gatorade 3) Vanilla energy power gels aren't much better either... but most importantly, 4) how amazingly generous people are - a huge thank you for your support.
I chose to run the NYC marathon to support the MS Society as a dear friend of mine suffers from this condition. We are thrilled to have beaten our original fundraising target.
It's still not too late to sponsor me, so if you know of anyone who may be willing to, please pass them my web page link.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Multiple Sclerosis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you to you all abigail x
