Story
In an attempt (i) to get fit and (ii) do some good for others (and let’s face it in a moment of madness), I have agreed to climb the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in aid of McMillan Cancer Support on 9th August.
Unfortunately neither objective is going well….
1. My training has been very limited, which will make my final task all the harder if not impossible (entirely my fault)
2. Given events earlier this year, I felt compelled to ask a few months ago for your support to raise funds for disaster relief in Nepal. Your donations helped raise an amazing £3,400 (Thank you so much, you generous people)
However the challenge has been accepted, so I need to do what I can on both fronts.
In lieu of hill training, I can be seen regularly running up and down the steps of the pedestrian crossing at Malmesbury school, 700 steps per night, much to the amusement of the locals.
For fund raising raffle tickets will be circulated. But if you would like to contribute towards the wonderful work the MacMillan nurses do by making a donation I have also set up a Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/Zoe-Keeton which includes some scary pictures of the 3 peaks tarrain.
And here’s the best bit - RWE has agreed to match the funds we raise, in addition to the gift aid tax relief
Thank you for your help and support
Best wishes
Zoë
