We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

I have to be part of #TEAMHELEN. All that know me well will know that I lost my closest friend, Helen Pote to breast cancer on 8 Sep 2014. Heaven gained an angel and I thank my lucky stars that I had the privilege of her close company for her last few years.

Helen & I did lots of things together; we joined Boot Camp, worked out together, took our beautiful 6 children everywhere together, celebrated together, cried together and laughed together. Yes, we laughed a lot !

Helen was diagnosed terminal in Feb 2013 and in May 2013 whilst undergoing treatment we did the Warwickshire Sprint Triathlon, TOGETHER ! One of the most memorable and humbling days ever in my lifetime.

Sadly, due to a knee dislocation last year (and lots of tea and biscuits) I'm at least 20 pounds heavier, very unfit and absolutely dreading this event. I have a shoulder injury too and if I actually listened to my physio I would not be taking part!

Instead, with Helen in my heart I am going to smash this; it might break me but it wont kill me!

HELEN POTE IS A LEGEND !
