Story
Why I decided to do this was nothing more but for fun and a bit of exercise for me at the start. However, as we began our ascend up the mountain, I quickly realised that this was going to be painful wearing my wellies. I completely underestimated the trek but I was determined to reach the summit. After 3 hours of climbing the mountain, I did reach the summit along with many others. The view was incredible.
Having made it back down from the mountain with too many blisters to count on my feet (Please wear rock-climbing boots for treks, don't wear wellies like me) I realised that millions of people in East Africa undergo through this pain and worse for far more than 7 hours a day.
People shouldn't have to live to survive. They should survive to live. You could be the person to help prevent another death by starvation and thirst. We are in 2018, no life should be taken because of a lack of food and water.
Please, I urge you to donate any amount you can spare to help prevent people just living to survive. All your money will go towards starving families in East Africa and to help tackle homelessness in the UK.
Thank you.
