Story

#ChristmasDay10k      #UKsupportPH

On Christmas day we are giving up our time to run 10k around the river Thames to raise money for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

We have reached our team target BUT the Event Target is over £13,000. We understand that it is the festive season coming & the pockets are tighter. Even a £1 donation helps towards the bigger target. Let's make a difference. Every little helps. Please support us on the run

Group Members: Kurt Gonzales, Jodie Sayson, Viele DeVille, Juanita Rasiah, Caroline Batan, Asuncion Stamaria Garcia, Cliff Gay-ya, Max Nixon, Charlotte Cantil, Ify Agunyego, David Eade, Nicola San Lorenzo, Eliza Aziz, Kim Bacunawa, Aaron San Lorenzo & Rhoda Villegas.

FOR THE TYPHOON VICTIMS IN THE PHILIPPINES

This year we have decided to do something amazing and dedicate our Christmas to the 10,000 lost lives of our Filipino brothers and sisters.

Typhoon Haiyan is believed to have killed at least 10,000 people and a further 1,186 are missing, with about 500,000 people homeless, according to the latest official figures.

Thousands of Filipinos are now homeless, living on the destruction caused by the worst Typhoon ever to hit land. These are people of all ages who have lost not only their homes, but their families - Christmas will never be the same again.

Food is scarce, disease is spreading but each of us can give each of them a lifeline.

By donating to this cause via 'ShelterBox':

£25  could buy two families the essentials to store and purify drinking water for 1 month

£50 could buy a family of five basic household items like mosquito nets, blankets, candles, and children's clothes.

£100 could buy three hygiene kits containing soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothbrushes, nappies and underwear to keep families clean and healthy.

Any donation will be much appreciated - If it compels you to help, please do.

So on DECEMBER 25th 2013 my friends and I will be running 10k along and around London's River Thames - whatever the weather! So let's hope for a white Christmas?
