Story
This year, my friends and I have decided to dedicate our Christmas to all those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
This was an idea of 3 individuals, Karmelo, Sifa & Santiago that has grown to over 50 runners participating.
It's inspiring and the response has been over whelming. But it's not over yet. Although we've completely smashed our target, please dig deep and continue to sponsor.
There are currently thousands of Filipinos who have lost their families, their livelihoods and their homes.
Sacrificing Christmas is a bold statement, and a small sacrifice to pay for such a big cause. We ask you to dig deeply and donate in memory of our Filipino brothers and sisters who were taken away from us during this storm.
This devastation has deeply affected some of our families. Although no amount of money can replace, or bring back those we have lost we hope to provide a better future for the children who have been orphaned and who are suffering during this time.
By donating to this cause via 'Save The Children':
£25 could buy two families the essentials to store and purify drinking water for 1 month.
£50 could buy a family of five basic household items like mosquito nets, blankets, candles, and children's clothes.
£100 could buy three hygiene kits containing soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothbrushes, nappies and underwear to keep families clean and healthy.
Any donation no matter how little, will be greatly appreciated.
So on DECEMBER 25th 2013 we will be running 10k along and around London's River Thames, starting and ending at Big Ben - whatever the weather!
ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE - we would love for you to join us. RED, BLUE and YELLOW hats are essential!
