Bonjour mes amis!

As some of you may be aware, my arthritic knees, twisted spine and I are departing for warmer climes, on a short sabbatical, and are going to attempt to walk, but most likely hobble the 1500 km from Le Puy en Velay in south-central France along the Via Podiensis and Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela in the North West corner of of Spain. 

As well as the obvious benefits to the pertness my buns, this is also an excuse to attempt to drum up a bit of cash for a good cause; My friend Phillippa has been bashing out the events raising funds for for her £10,000 challenge, (http://www.justgiving.com/teams/10000challenge) all proceeds finding their way to Macmillan Cancer Support and Leukaemia Care. Any cash that you can throw at me whilst plodding across the continent would be gratefully received and go toward helping Pip reach her goal.

I'll be trying my best to overcome my social media ineptitude and updating the associated Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/487645027972044/) to keep you abreast of my progress as often as the internet cafes of back water France and Spain will allow.
