Story
On Saturday 14th October 2017, rugby union players from all over London will be banding together to raise money for The Royal British Legion.
The funds raised will facilitate a very special trip for WW2 veterans, now
in their 90’s, to return to Italy where they fought at the battle of Monte
Cassino in 1944. Accompanied by a relative, carer and medical staff they will be able to say a last farewell to their fallen comrades. They can lay old ghosts to rest by revisiting the pivotal battlefield which impacted their young-selves so strongly.
I am one of the players currently representing Société Générale CIB in “The City League”, a rugby union league made up of financial institutions and law firms. On this day we will no longer be opposing each other but instead will form The City League Barbarians. Our opposition? A combined services team made up of the; Army, Navy and RAF. This is not a fixture to be taken lightly.
I would really appreciate any donations to this exceptional cause.
Please also come along on the day for drinks at the exceptional ground of the members-only, Honourable Artillery Company. You can watch the matches during the day and even attend the three course black-tie dinner. Please message me for further details – willbrentnall@outlook.com.
Tickets subject to availability.
