Story

So once again I am cycling to Download to raise money for charity, except this year Mark Oakley & Jon Field are joining the fun.

We will be enduring 164 miles of tow paths, country roads and steep hills when we cycle from Alexandra Palace on the 7th June to arrive at Donnington Park for the Download festival on midday on the 9th June.

We are raising money for three very worthwhile charities again this year. Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust & Childline. Please help us smash our target of £3,900 to help those children who need it most.

Copy and paste the below page into your internet browser for some of last years highlights and to hear a little more about these charities.

Nordoff Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people. It supports thousands of people in its own centres and by working in partnership with a wide range of organisations including care homes, schools and hospitals. When delivered by a trained practitioner, music therapy can help a child with autism to communicate, reduce anxiety for those living with dementia or provide comfort and celebrate the life of someone facing terminal illness.

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.
