Story
In July, I am going to attempt to swim from England to France to raise money for Water Aid. This will be a 21 mile swim, in a sea temperature of around 16 degrees. The average time it takes to complete the swim is 14 hours, so I’ve been putting in a lot of training in the pool and sea to get ready for this challenge! The success rate is less than 50% so I know there's a lot of hard work still to come.
Water Aid is a fantastic charity helping address key challenges around water which affect billions of people in ways that are hard to imagine when living in the UK.
Over 748 million people live without access to clean, safe water, and 2.5 billion people don’t have access to adequate sanitation. This has a huge impact on people’s lives with over 500,000 children dying every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and clean sanitation. Your donation can make a significant difference, for example:
£15 pays for Tools to build a well
£25 pays for Training for a local water and sanitation committee
Thank you so much for visiting this page and considering donating to Water Aid, whatever you would like to give would be hugely appreciated and will help motivate me as I take on this watery adventure.
