Over the last two years, I have been given the opportunity to take part as a volunteer in Cricket Without Boundaries’ project in Botswana. This year, I am going to Uganda and look forward to a new experience.
The approach will be the same. Being a little more specific, what we are aiming to do is to support the government’s effort to raise awareness of AIDs - through their ABC campaign (Abstain – be faithful – condoms) - through cricket. By training teachers to coach cricket we aim to spread the fun that can be had playing the game, but also use the exercises to highlight how to avoid catching AIDs.
In addition to paying for my flight, my meals and transport at the other end, I have to raise a minimum of £500 which will benefit the children I am about to work with. I would be grateful for any donation.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks for your (ongoing) support.
