Story
Hello everyone!
We are the Campaigns Officers at the University of Nottingham's LGBT Network. As a network, we have raised a lot of money for both local and national charities. We have sent money raised through fortnightly Queer Cafes, a marathon and countless campaign stalls to the LGS in Nottingham, Broken Rainbow and the National Aids Trust.
But this time we are doing something completely different and we need your help!
On the 20th of February 2014, members of our LGBT+ Network are going to camp on campus this February to raise awareness about LGBT homelessness. We are also aiming to raise as much money as we can for The Albert Kennedy Trust.
Thousands of 16 - 25 year olds are made homeless through coming out to their parents about their sexual orentation and/or gender identity.
The Albert Kennedy Trust is a fantastic charity that has three aims:
- To provide appropriate homes through supported lodgings, fostering and other specialist housing schemes.
- To enable young people to manage independet living successfully.
- To improve attitudes within society towards LGBT+ young people.
You can find out more about The Albert Kennedy Trust's work here.
If you feel like taking part or you have any questions please email me on campaigns@uonsulgbt.org.
Please donate if you can and make sure you spread the word!
