Story
Check out more of our training exploits by reading the Trekkers-R-Us Blog.
Trailwalker was originally started by the Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment over 30 years ago as a training exercise to test soldiers' stamina & teamwork skills. The challenge is to complete the 100km Trailwalker trail, across the South Downs, in under 30 hours in teams of four. Is it tough? Of course. Is it worth it? Absolutely.
100km. A nice round number but quite hard to put into perspective! Have a look at these facts below to try and imagine the scale of this non-stop challenge.
· Walking 62.14 miles non-stop.
· Two & a half marathons back to back.
· Walking from London to Southampton.
· Crossing the English Channel 3 times.
By taking part in this epic challenge we will be raising money to help people in poverty make a better life for themselves through the work of Oxfam & the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Trailwalker is highly respected for the great determination & teamwork it demands but will also hopefully bring a massive sense of achievement and unbeatable pride to the whole team.
Please dig deep to motivate us in training, support our efforts and donate to these worthy causes now.
Thanks in advance!
