Simon and Wendy have completed a cycle relay following the outline of Haiti mapped onto roads through England and Wales, a total distance of 1264 miles covered in 13 days. Son and daughter, Sam (10) and Hannah (13) put in 173 miles themselves making this a family venture supporting the poorest country in the Western hemisphere where local churches, through support from Compassion, are building Child Survival Units to support mothers and children under 4 years to give them the best start possible.

 Relatively modest sums of money go a very long way in Haiti:
• 66p will buy a brick
• £5 will buy one bag of cement
• £7 will buy a wooden plank
• £80 will pay for a truck of gravel and transportation to site
• £200 will pay for one door and one window to be installed
• £100 will pay for telephone connections on site

Just because Haiti is no longer in the news doesn't mean they are sorted! By doing something big and challenging we pray that the money raised will enable them to achieve a building and a service that they really need.
