Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. A massive thanks to Verni and Chris, Bob, Jo, Little Ted and the anonymous donations.
I've been asked a lot who my friends are that didn't get anyway near my age because of cancer so unfairly hastening their deaths. The four names I'll have on my back on Sunday are three friends: Charles (my business partner and best friend's (Clare) husband; Mandy , my next door neighbour and Digby, my school friend and best man.
The fourth name is Elizabeth, my wife's, (Eileen) niece who died in her twenties leaving behind her children, Judy and Dale, who have been brought up to wonderful adulthood by Eileen's sister Carrie.
My other best friend who didn't make it, is Jude, who again I knew from school-days and I always thought of as the kindest, most practically helpful to others, woman in the world. I miss Jude such a lot but Jude didn't die of cancer and as I'm raising money for Cancer Research I'll run for the memory of Charles, Mandy, Digby and Elizabeth but drink celebratory pints with a side dish of wine, chocolate and cinder toffee icecream in celebration of Jude's too short life too..
