Thank you for visiting my web page!
I am really happy to be a member of group that decided to support a charity organization named Fight for Sight by doing NightWalk, dressed as a pirate carrot.
Fight for Sight is an organization that, among other things, supports scientists to carry out their research on human eye and, in effect, helps people fight with numerous eye diseases. According to the latest research, there are around 285 million people, of whom 39 million are blind! In the UK, around two million people are living with sight loss - that's approximately one person in 30! These numbers show how many people need a support from organizations like Fight for Sight.
Probably ‘sight loss by severe disease’ does not sound so serious like 'death' as a result of any other hard illness. Does it mean that people suffering from them need less care or attention from us? Surely, not! Any diagnosis is equally hard to go through by any person particularly if it means loss of any sense.
Me and my friends joined together in a team of 'Carrots of the Caribbean' (https://www.justgiving.com/teams/CaribbeanCarrots) to raise money for Fight for Sight! All of us will also take part in the Carrots NightWalk around London!
If you would like to support us and help prevent blindness, please donate via this JustGiving webpage!!! It's safe and simple - your donation will be automatically passed on to Fight for Sight! They will also claim an extra 25% Gift Aid on every eligible donation.
Alternatively, you can simply send a text TOMZ87 followed by the amount you wish to donate (e.g. TOMZ87 £10) to 70070.
Thank you very much!!! :)
