I am going to walk the Pennie Way with my grandfather, John Asher, and my mother, Dr. Meg Crossley. It is a 268 mile walk, and I am going to start in Edale in Derbyshire with my grandfather, and walk as far as Malham, where I live. We are going to have a one day break in Malham, and then I will continue with my mother as far as Dufton in Cumbria, at which point my grandfather will once again join me and my mother will go back to saving people's lives! the walk will last a total of 19 days including a day's rest in Malham and a day to drive home from Kirk Yetholm in Scotland where the trail ends.
I have been doing long-distance walks with my grandfather ever since I was 9, when we did the Dales Way. Since then, we have done Wainwright's Coast to Coast, Offa's Dyke Path, the Centurion Way, and Hadrian's Wall Walk.
My mother works for the Airedale Emergency Department, and when we heard that there was a fundraiser going on, we decided to raise money on our next long-distance walk. This will be the first long-distance walk that I have done with my mother.
We want to raise money towards a Sky Ceiling (http://www.skyfactory.com/) to make the department a better place for children and elderly people with dementia, to make the new department dementia friendly.
You can text SPWW67 £1 to 70070 to donate £1 today!
