Story

Despite declaring ‘never again’ after finishing the 2010 London Marathon, Tom has now changed his mind, and this year we're both running the London Marathon to once again raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

As you will no doubt all know this is the hospital where our daughter, Evie, spent her first five months of life and which continues to provide such wonderful care for her and thousands of other poorly children. Our fundraising will go to the Neonatal Surgical Ward whose dedicated staff continue to go above and beyond the call of duty for every family who needs them.

We appreciate that this is the fourth time we have asked for sponsorship money, but this will be the last time we attempt a sponsored run because Tom's knees are telling him to stop!! Our family and friends have been truly amazing since Evie’s arrival in December 2008, not only in fundraising but also in support and kindness. We appreciate every penny we raise and are well aware of the generosity in this current economic climate. Thank you once again for all your help in our efforts to give something back to the hospital and staff who saved our little miracle.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
