Back in May, after a perfect pregnancy, friends of ours tragically lost their beautiful baby girl, Beatrice Emilia, shortly after birth. I heard this news just as my wife and I were preparing to leave hospital after 7 long weeks, following the premature birth of our own daughter.

Having endured the ups and downs of pregnancy, every family dreams of bringing their baby home, but sadly this isn’t always the case. Tommy’s funds and undertakes research into a number of areas including neonatal death and premature birth. Their aim is for every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcome and to take home happy, healthy babies.

In honour of Bea’s memory, her parents have organised a team to run the inaugural London Landmarks Half Marathon. I am extremely proud to be part of Team Bea and would be very grateful for any donations. We will be running in memory of Bea and in the hope that as a result of our efforts, more babies will be able to live long and healthy lives.
