Story
As most people, some important people in my life have been taken by Cancer.
Unfortunately I never got to meet my Nanny Packer as she was already very ill with cancer when I was born, I am lucky enough to have a few photo’s of her holding me.
And then later on in my life I lost my Nanny Bull due to cancer, being older I witnessed her long struggle and was able to appreciate the will and strength that it takes to battle such an illness.
I’ve taken part and helped organise previous cancer fundraising events, but this is my first attempt of doing an event all by myself.
I plan on completely shaving my head in early October, which as a rock musician (I have always taken pride in my locks) makes this is a little nerve racking, however knowing that the money raised will go to such a worthwhile cause is comforting.
I will also be donating the hair I lose to one of the UK’s wig charities, who make wigs for those who have lost their hair due to treatments involved with cancer.
I will be raising money throughout September, so please dig deep, any donation is welcome from 50p to £50 or more!
Here’s where I want to make it interesting, I’m setting some targets and if you can help me reach them then you all get to decide how drastic the cut will be ! :
£100+ - I will cut my hair and have it nicely styled
£200+ - I will clipper my head at some respectful grade (3 or 4)
£300+ - I will completely bic my head
And if you love my hair that much...
£400+ - I will NOT bic my head
Together we can beat this disease and we can help future generations to have more time together.
