Story
I'm planning on taking part in the BHF London to Brighton night ride this year (plus an extra bit).
The plan is to ride 60 miles through the night, starting near Tower Bridge and ending at my favourite place, the beach! I'll be riding with Team Powell, in memory of my friend Alex's mother, but also in memory of my brother Doug. It's been a while since i've done anything for the BHF, so this is overdue.
We should arrive in Brighton for sunrise, at which stage i'll try to find a cafe that will feed me pasta for breakfast, wave goodbye to Team Powell, turn west and cycle around 70 miles through the South Downs to my parents house near Winchester. With a bit of luck i'll be back in time for tea! (more pasta?)
I haven't done any sort of long distance cycling since I was 17 (as pictured at the end of the daytime London/Brighton!) and I definitely haven't tried to do anything close to 130 miles in one go before. Hopefully i'll have a bike soon so i'll be able to do a bit of training beforehand, but everything above around 100 miles is still unchartered territory and it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
I don't really have a fundraising target in mind, but if you would like to donate then it would be hugely appreciated, no amount is too little!
Thanks :)
Tom
