We fund bone cancer research & grant wishes to seriously ill people #makingmemories

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September 2016 I was diagnosed with cancer.  Darcy was turned away and I started treatment,  I signed up to the Wobbleberry Challenge whilst resting between chemotherapy treatments. Darcy and I  had only ever done riding club dressage and I hadn't done any competitive jumping since the 90s but Pontispool in September seemed a long way away.

The challenge is to compete in a BE80 (dressage, showjumping and cross country at 80cm) in 2017. The challenge is aimed at middle aged wimpy riders so I fitted the bill perfectly!

We are raising money for the Wilberry Wonder Pony charity aims to support vital research into osteosarcoma and to grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people and their families.

Matthew Hall and the team at Moorside in South Zeal took on the challenge of turning Darcy into an eventing schoolmistress who would look after her wimpy rider.  They did an amazing job as on 16th September we did it!  We completed Pontispool BE 80.

Thank you to everyone who encouraged and cajoled me to achieve my goal.  Particularly Sue who came all the way from Essex to make sure I didn't wimp out!

Thank you to the wonderful team at Pontispool who were very kind to a very stressed and faintly nauseous wimp.
