Story
I'm doing a series of cycle events over the year, including the 140 mile Dragon Ride in Wales, the Ride London-Surrey 100 mile event, and this year's flagship event l'Etape du Tour, a stage of the Tour de France from Mègeve to Morzine which is 90 miles including 4 mountains, each over 1,400m (http://www.letapedutour.com/us/race/route).
I'm also aiming to do 120 miles per week over the year, meaning 6240 miles in total. Current event miles this year: 494. Current total miles this year: 4,536 (updated 2/9).
The current provisional list of rides is as follows:
- Tour de Yorkshire Sportive – Sun 1st May (74 miles, 5,180 ft, Scarborough) (completed)
- Dragon Ride L'Etape Wales - Sun 5th Jun (144 miles, 11,200 ft, Port Talbot) (completed)
- Eroica Britannia vintage ride - Sun 19th Jun (100 miles, 9,200 ft, Bakewell) (completed)

As usual I am supporting the British Heart Foundation. With many excellent causes in the world there are personal reasons for this - there is heart disease in my family (my grandfather died young and my father has had coronary artery bypass surgery) which was one of my motivations for losing over 3 stone in 2013 and taking up cycling in the first place.
Please do donate - it will be very much appreciated and definitely helps as your legs get tired!
