Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Thomas' JustGiving page

Stuart Judd, Paul Bowden, Malcolm Gammons, Chris Bray and Alec Robson will be competing  in the 2009/10 Thetford MTB Winter Series - (Round 1 results now in!)

We will be raising money in the memory of Thomas Stuart Judd, for the Addenbrooke's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The team took care of our Thomas in his final hours, and the care and dedication they showed him was just amazing.

We would like to help other children and families receive even better care, by raising money to help fund equipment they desperately require - please read the info on the Dolphin Appeal below.

THE PICU

DOLPHIN APPEAL

Addenbrookes Hospital does not have a portable Ultra Sound machine purely dedicated for Intensive Paediatric use. PICU would like its own machine assist with the diagnosis’s of cardiac conditions and to assist in the procedure of fitting central lines. Our charity fund has already funded the training of a consultant in the use of cardiac ultra sound and now we need to fund the purchase of the machine. It is medically recommended that this machine is used in the insertion of central lines as it improves accuracy, is quicker and more comfortable. The importance of a successful outcome for this procedure can make the difference of a patient in need of long term treatment remaining in hospital for months or returning home and receiving community care.  Purchase of this equipment would help us to remain at the forefront of modern technology and maintain our reputation as a centre of excellence which the children of East Anglia deserve. The equipment would be used daily and be to the benefit of many children. The NHS cannot currently purchase this machine but we would like you to ACT NOW FOR PICU and help us enhance our facilities. Please consider fund raising for us and help us achieve the £34,000 target.
