They did it - congratulations to the Towpath Towrags!!
Most found the first day hard and tough - the weather wasn't kind and some of the canal towpaths were very challenging but they all made it to Milton Keynes Friday night. They then cycled on the next day, and stopped the traffic at Big Ben when they turned up around 4.30.
Thank you to everyone for your support and donations - we're not sure how much has been raised but will let you all know.
A group of 30 - 50+ chaps have decided to do a bicycle ride to raise money for charity. They are raising money for Woodlands School in Coleshill (who desperately need a minibus) and Marie Curie Nurses (who do a wonderful job).
They are planning on cycling from the Little Ben clock in Victoria Square, Birmingham to the Big Ben clock in Westminster, London along the Grand Union Canal towpath, hence the Towpath Towrags!!!
The idea started over a couple of pints ISH - but cycling 140 miles for the next pint seems a bit desperate
They are busily doing lots of practise runs, so far no one has fallen into the cut, but there have been a few close escapes. (they haven't had the next pint yet ....)
Can you please donate as much money as possible to these foolish chaps who are very well meaning
