Story
We, like many mad people, have always admired people who can set their sights on a goal like running the marathon and actually put in the work needed to achieve this goal.
We have decided to try and make this dream a reality and start training for the London Marathon 2015. Before we start a family, we will put our all into this goal and by sponsoring us, you will be helping your friend, colleague, acquaintance (whatever we are to you) to achieve something they have dreamed of doing and something they can look back in life and be proud of themselves for achieving.
We don't think we could do it however without having the 'pressure' of your donations behind us and the knowledge that through you, we are working to raise ALOT of money. This charity target is just as much of a goal as the work itself to run the 26.2 miles in our fair city.
We have both been lucky enough to gain places through the charity Help for Hospices. The reason we chose this charity is because Catherine's mum worked at the Severn Hospice for much of her career and Catherine spent a lot of time there with people being treated. She came to see how amazing the work that Hospices do is, how these people are given such care in their final days and how important it is for their families to see them being well looked after and their pain eased. Even though neither of us have had to see any of our immediate family treated at a hospice, we know plenty of people who have.
For these reasons, we are asking you to donate to our JustGiving page which will mean you have a)donated to a very worthwhile charity and b)helped us to achieve a huge ambition.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
