Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

Let me explain.  I am a middle aged, wimpy rider and am never going to make the Olympic team, however, when I saw Hannah Francis raising money to kick cancers butt despite suffering herself, she inspired me and so many others.  Unfortunately Hannah lost her fight but her charity lives on.  Some one came up with the idea of getting us Wobbleberrys out there to push themselves to complete a BE80 event. This means you have to do a dressage test, a showjumping course and a cross country course.  The 80 bit means 80cm.  Now this might not seem a lot to some but trust me, it's quite big for us Wobbleberries!   You and your horse need to be fit and you need to put in a lot of hard work to be able to achieve something like this.

Now we have a year to work up to it and it's going to mean hard work, blood, sweat and tears (probably all at some point), however, it's been on my bucket list to do a cross country course so why not. Hopefully I will have the support of my friends and family, I have a hard year ahead of me.   Those who know me know that Bart is my first horse and we have only been together 16 months with him and his best friend Bono (www.facebook.com/BartandBono) and we have only done 2 jumping lessons, however, I have faith in Bart and I am sure we can give it a whirl, and what better way than to raise money for such a great cause. I also have my own medical issues, Crohns, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis and Obstructive sleep apnea to deal with which makes me feel even more determined to do it.

2018 has brought change. I took a very difficult decision in letting Bart move on. He needed more than I could give or teach him and he needs a job, lots of horses and lots to do. I am so thankful he came in to my life, we had 2 1/2 years together and he taught me SO much. I am sad, it’s like a grieving process, but I know I did exactly the right thing.
So in the interim period I am searching for a new steed and one false start but hopefully I will be able to update you all soon.

I have set up a page on Facebook so you can follow our progress.
