Story
There are quite a few reasons why I have decided to ask for donations for my birthday this year; but the main, most important reason, is that AYME (Association of Young People with M.E.) have changed my life. Receiving their magazine and meeting other members, all for free, has let me know that I am not in my room/house struggling against M.E. alone. Making friends who understand has been critical in keeping up my hope, as well as knowing that if I do ever need more help I only need to pick up the phone.
Unfortunately some of their services have had to be cut (they no longer send out paper magazines) due to lack of funds, and I figured that my 25th birthday is the perfect opportunity to do what I can to give back. I don't have much money right now and so I am asking you to give as much as you can (whether it be 50p or £50) instead of buying gifts for me. This is a huge step for me as my birthday has always been special and I've always looked forward to the presents, but I know that this is what I want this year and it will be just as special, if not more so, with the gift that you generously make today.
Please help to make my birthday wish come true by donating to keep AYME's services free so that other young people can continue to gain hope through them.
