Story
Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to visit the Rohingya Camps in Bangladesh. When people ask me how I found it, it has always been so difficult to explain.
How do I explain the gravity and scale of the living conditions in the camp? How do I express the feelings of women who share shelter with men that are not their mahrem. How do I explain the situation of the family when they experience cold nights and rain that seeps into the shelter and how they huddle together to keep warm and protected, and the lack of privacy available for women when they have to walk out to use wash facilities.
Bangladesh is my Motherland which makes the Rohingya community my neighbours. I left saying we have to do more for them.
This year I have decided to test my self once again, I will be on a gruelling 12-day trek to reach the Base Camp of Everest in cold and freezing conditions. I cannot handle the cold very well and this will test me beyond those limits.
I have already raised £2000 towards the Rohingya plight, help me reach £5000 so that we can improve the quality of homes and sanitation facilities at the camps.
Thank you
