Story
After having a stroke my mum was lucky to find a lovely, supportive local Stroke Association group. Over 5 years on she still attends monthly meet ups and appreciates the efforts put in to running the group. I have come to realise that minimising the risk of stroke is important but have struggled in recent years to make time to keep fit on a regular basis. So I came up with the idea of setting myself a challenge and making it about more than just me getting fit and keeping my risk of stroke low. I’m going to raise money and awareness for The Stroke Association at the same time
I will be swimming the distance of the English Channel over 12 weeks from 16 September to 8 December. That’s 22 miles/35.5km or 1420 lengths of my local pool.
