I've chosen to fund raise for the UK's Marine Conservation Society for a number of different reasons, but mostly because not enough is being done to protect marine life and secure the health of the oceans - the society are actively doing something about the main issues!

Issues such as overfishing, increases in marine pollution and beach litter, the need for marine protected areas, and how to ensure that seafood sustainable.

Personally I love just going to the beach and being in the ocean - and when I studied Marine Biology at Newcastle it was incredible to learn about the fascinating marine ecosystems that support us!! Doing something like running a marathon is a step towards helping a group of incredibly dedicated people put science into practice - the work of MCSUK is all achieved by a small group on a limited budget! 

This might be the last road marathon I do for a while, and it would be fantastic to make it best - in terms of fundraising (and of course time...)!!! Thank you so much for your support!
