Story
Saturday May 14th, 12 hour sponsored sewathon! Non stop sewing from 8am to 8pm, and from 10am till 4pm there will be refreshments available for a donation, a small quilt display and a sale of hand made craft items.
In November 2014 my 20 year old daughter Hannah was diagnosed with cancer following a kidney transplant. She was treated at Bristol Oncology Centre and was able to stay in the amazing Teenage Cancer Trust Unit. Following chemotherapy and radiotherapy which made her very ill she was told there was nothing more they could do and she was not expected to live till the end of 2015. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people all over the world were praying for her and she got stronger over the next few months. In November after more scans and a biopsy she was told there was no sign of the cancer left! Through all this rollercoaster ride the staff at the TCT unit have been and continue to be a great support. We want to give something back by raising some money for such a worthy cause. So my sister Jane and I will be sewing quilt tops for 12 hours non-stop. When completed the quilts will be donated to the Unit to be given to patients.
