Story
My dearest husband passed away on March 21st 2020, he died from Sepsis. This has left the whole family devastated. Meriron was a loving husband and caring father to his three boys Chris, Aled and Sion.
His greatest passion in life other than his family was his farm and the agricultural industry. Even when the Sepsis took hold he kept on lambing until the ambulance arrived.
He was taken to Glangwili Hospital Carmarthen where he received the most wonderful care anyone could of wish for on the ICU ward. The Doctors and Nurses did everything in their power to bring him home but the Sepsis took over.
We would like to raise money for the Intensive Care Unit at Glangwili Hospital Carmarthen to say thank you for everything they did for Meirion and we will always be truly grateful for the care he received.
We decided to set the 3 Peak challenge as our primary fundraiser. We managed to complete the challenge well within the 24 hour time scale. This event was no easy feat. However, with good teamwork and moral, we smashed the 3 Peaks as a family. We were met with a great amount of support from family and friends at the final peak, in which they cheered us on to climb Pen Y Fan.
It’s two years since Meirion left us due to sepsis. Our hearts are still breaking and we miss him more and more each day. Since he left us he has had two grandchildren who he will never hold but we will tell them everything about him. In the last two years we have raised money for the amazing ICU department in Glangwili Hospital through our Just Giving page. The grand total is £23,401. As a family we would like to thank Barclays Bank for supporting our cause through the Employee pound for pound scheme of a grand total of £10,540. We would also like to thank all the boys for the Movember challenge and a huge thank you to everyone that walked the three welsh peaks with us especially Tom Gravell, Harri and Lewys Millin, Dafydd Land, Henry Worle and Rhodri Powell. Thank you to everyone who has donated towards this wonderful cause. We will be closing the Just Giving page a week today so if anybody would like to donate we would be most grateful.
Thank you from all of us
