They made it!!!!!
Thames Path done and dusted - now Kevin Smith, David Caney, Richard and Nigel Purlin have been busy cycling 1000km of the Camino Way in Spain. Through adverse weather conditions - rain, gales and searing heat - they’ve pedalled, pushed, pulled and carried their bikes over some pretty challenging terrain. They arrived ‘safely’ at their destination - Compostela de Santiago - on Sunday, nursing some cuts and bruises from falls, aches and pains from all their hard work but feeling rightfully very proud of themselves for undertaking such an epic challenge for O2e and the six children’s charities they are supporting this year. Well done boys!
Also, on May 25th, a group of 50 of us pounded the Thames Path for O2e. Setting off from Putney Bridge at the crack of dawn, the first group of walkers covered a full marathon distance; they’ll crossed over the river at Teddington Lock before heading back to the start point to complete just over 26miles. Our second group walked to Richmond Bridge, crossed the Thames and walked back to Putney, achieving a total distance of approx. 20 miles - no mean feat!
No less than six charities are being supported by O2e this year: ELHAP; FREDDIE FARMER FOUNDATION, SPARKLE, FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE HOSPICE, ST ELIZABETH’S and CASPA. Your support will go a long, long way to improving the lives of children with disabilities and life-threatening illnesses and don’t forget, O2e is a non-profit organisation so every penny we raise goes straight to our designated charities.
