Story
Thanks for popping along to my page, you all know the drill by now, I try and take on a challenge every year for an amazing cause.
The important bit- I have a target of £750 but if I manage to double that target and hit £1500 I will commit now to doing it on a Boris Bike! This is probably not the most sensible idea I have ever had but it has been done before so it possible even though it weighs 3 times the amount of my bike and has 3 gears rather than 20!
This year, I actually decided to take on two challenges, the Spring Wolf run which was a 10K obstacle race including lots of water, mud and climbing obstacles, the worst bit was the swim across the lake which made the sea in Brighton feel like a bath. Although saying that, i kind of despise running so was a semi-welcome distraction
The Attenda Extreme initiative was introduced at the start of 2012. The initiative manifests itself in two parallel and supporting themes, Extreme Charity and Extreme Endeavour. Both themes will embrace Extreme challenges that live up to the definition of Extreme – Reaching a high or the highest degree in very great undertakings. Attenda Extreme aims to realise the collective efforts of many resources, encourage and foster long lasting relationships with the selected cause(s), create memories of achieving Extreme challenges and provide people with a chance to make a real, substantial, positive difference. Since its inception, a total of £108,000 has been raised.
In 2016, Attenda are taking part in 2 challenges, a 24 hours three peaks challenge and a London to Paris cycle. Over these two events Attenda are looking to raise £20,000. As well as the individuals contacting friends and family for sponsorship we also look to corporate partners and contacts and run raffles and auctions for individual prizes.
Every employee pays in full for the trip they are participating in, we do not believe in sponsorship subsidising these trips.
Attenda currently support both TyHafan (Registered Charity No: 1047912) and Shooting Star Chase (Registered Charity No: 1042495)
The Charities are very similar in what they do by offering end of life care and support to children and their families from when they are babies through to the age of 21. They offer day care, hospice at home as well as full hospice care.
