Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have left the story of the original reason for fundraising a couple of years back with my son Rhys, however, Matilda's parents are still raising money for a further operation  I have put Matilda's update below as hoping to raise a bit more for her by running the London Matathon on 26th April. Thank you for visiting my page and reading.

Having now had my SDR operation I am still fundraising for my physiotherapy. My operation has greatly improved my life however I am still struggling to walk as my left leg is still making me walk on my toes causing me to fall all the time. I am raising money to have a further operation in the USA help make my leg  more stable .The operation will cost in excess of £15k.I am so determined to walk unaided having come so far so please support me and make my dreams come true. I am working so hard to get there and would not be where I am now without your continued support. Cerebral palsy is life long sentence which I have to battle every day, I just want to be like all my friends. Love Matilda xx

Walking Matilda is the campaign to raise money for Matilda to go to the USA for life changing surgery.
We've joined together to raised money for charity. Matilda is 2 and a half years old. She has been diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral palsy. This means basically that her legs don't work properly so she is unable to walk unaided and has to rely on a walker to help her. The really unpleasant thing about it is that it hurts where her muscles cramp and this means she can't sleep properly either, She also gets really tired really quickly so find it difficult to play with her friends . Matildas mum and dad are raising money to take her to America where she can have an operation to make her CP affect her less. Without this her legs will slowly deform as the spasticity gets worse and she will find it harder and harder to walk in her walker. She might even have to use a wheelchair. Please donate so Matilda can live independent and pain free.

I am starting with a sprint triathlon on 29th September and am planning on other events including road races and other triathlons. I will update with details on all events I take part in and am hoping to raise as much money for Matilda along the way as I can. My 9 year old son, Rhys, is going to help get me on my way for the first one by completing a triathlon himself so you are also donating for this and any other events he takes part in with me.

Please assist all you can, Rhys is extremely proud to be able to have the chance to help Matilda as am I. I know the more that is donated the more it will spur us both on to raise as much as possible.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
