Story

Hi,

Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. I'm undertaking this great event to raise money for the charitable arm of the club I've supported since before I was even born! (Apparently my mum was at the Gate in 84 with my dad when she was pregnant with me).

The village the club has links with means you'll be able to see where the money is going and what good things your donations will be funding and leading to.

On a personal note, I've signed up for this event as a personal challenge. In 2008 I was hospitalised for 7 weeks following another car driving head-on into me. I was in an induced coma for 10 days, and was very sick. I had to have my right foot rebuilt and have a metal plate fixed into my right femur. Due to being in the coma for so long I had to learn to walk, talk, even swallow food and water during my rehab.

As I lifelong football fan, I understandably love playing the beautiful game - but have had to give that up since the crash. All I can do is non-contact low impact sports - like cycling.

Training for this event has been hard - very hard actually. But I have benefited in ways I didn't imagine were possible and feel really good because of registering for the event.

Hopefully, you may choose to sponsor me and help me along to reach (and hopefully pass) my target. Every donation I recieve gives me that little more motivation to continue my training and will give me that lift I will undoubtedly need when cycling the 200+ over Easter from Land's End to Ashton Gate.
