TackleAfrica uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent

Story

Currently in Reykjavik just 30 miles to go to complete the journey tomorrow at the airport in under 10 days. Thanks to all who have donated, we have certainly earnt your money! We have cycled 79,000ft (2.5 × the height of Everest) and nearly 1000 miles in some gruelling conditions, past volcanoes, glaciers, ice rivers and seemingly hundreds of waterfalls. It's been an incredible challenge but we kept on going through every obstacle, no doubt there will be more tomorrow morning! See you all soon love Daws and Phil x

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We intend to complete an unsupported cycling tour around the perimeter of Iceland on the famous R1 road. The 821 mile route will take us to within 50 miles of the Arctic circle and up mountains over 1000m high. We will have to battle against Arctic winds and try to find a safe and warm place to make camp at night at sub-zero temperatures. Few people have cycled the route but those that have tend to take 14 - 18 days and sleep in hotels. This challenge will truly stretch us to breaking point but with your support we know we will be able to do it. We are raising money for Tackle Africa and we are hoping to raise 50p for every mile that we cycle. Tackle Africa are a fantastic charity that promotes HIV awareness through the medium of football. They are literally changing lives and I am proud to be able to contribute to their work.
