Story
This summer, I am undertaking 3 rides totalling 1,800 miles to help raise £1m for breast cancer research at the University of Nottingham
The final 'endurance' ride of 1,400+ miles over 18 days starts in mid-August, to the four points of the compass of mainland Britain: Lizard Point -South (Cornwall); Lowestoft Ness - East (Suffolk); Ardnamurchan Point ( Highland, Scotland) and Dunnet Head (Caithness, Scotland) - in that order. Before then, however, I will be cycling two big weekend challenges: Lochs and Glens in May ( 202 miles from Inverness to Glasgow); and, Way of the Roses in June (180 miles from Bridlington to Morecambe).
All the riders taking part are inspired by the cause. Breast cancer is the second most prevalent cancer globally. In the UK alone 58,000 new cases are diagnosed every year and no fewer than 1 in 8 women will experience the disease in their lifetime. The research we are supporting will help to detect breast cancer earlier, stop the cancer from spreading and develop more effective, personalised treatments.
So I hope you will support me in taking on this challenge and contribute to a great cause
