Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cancer affects so many of our lives.

The past few years have seen my own deeply affected by the loss of family, friends and colleagues. Something I have really struggled with is the inability to help in a meaningful, tangible way.

Having been in a number of hospices across the country, I know that there are professionals and volunteers who provide that support in such a meaningful way that it is priceless to those who need it.

Therefore I thought I could maybe help a little by raising funds for one of those hospices and help them to continue to provide that invaluable support. St Catherine's is a wonderful place, so any money you could pledge would be - not only greatly appreciated - but will go directly to helping those who are dealing with cancer and the often devastating impact upon their families.

I am joining up with my lovely Civil Service Local colleagues to cycle a 75 mile organised route (so no cheating!) that will start at Grasshopper's Rugby club in Preston and visit Lancaster, Hornby and Scorton on it's wending way through God's own country of Lancashire. This will be a challenge of some order for an overweight, middle-aged civil servant.
